NETCAR-FlexConf

NETCAR-FlexConf is a FlexRay network configuration tool that builds the communication cycle, both the static and the dynamic segment, with the objectives of meeting the timing constraints and optimizing the bandwidth usage. NETCAR-FlexConf reads and writes the FIBEX format and is thus compatible with the wide majority of FlexRay development tools.

For further information, please download these slides explaining the problem of configuring a FlexRay network and presenting the NETCAR-FlexConf approach and the performances that can be expected on typical automotive systems.

NETCAR-FlexConf performs the following tasks:

  1. set the relative size of the static and dynamic segment within the communication cycle,
  2. frame packing : build frames from signals,
  3. slot allocation : allocate the FlexRay slots to the ECUs,
  4. frame scheduling: schedule the frame transmissions during the 64 FlexRay communication cycles.
